Ethical employment policy

ETHICAL EMPLOYMENT POLICY OF AB “ROKIŠKIO SŪRIS“

 

 AB “Rokiškio sūris“ is an innovative company of high labour culture, with production of the highest quality compliant with requirements established in international and national standards. AB “Rokiškio sūris” have a clear understanding of their responsibility to customers, employees, partners, environment and community; therefore, the company bases their business on worldwide recognized human and employee rights, based on the principles set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Fundamental Rights, established in the Declaration of the International Labour Organization on fundamental principles and rights at work, apply principles of socially responsible business, acts in a transparent, trustworthy and honest way.

 

 

Freely chosen employment

There is no forced, bonded or involuntary labour. Employees are not required to lodge "deposits" or their identity papers and are free to leave their employer after reasonable notice. Zero tolerance of slavery and human trafficking.

 

Freedom of association and the right of collective bargaining

 

We respect the right employees to form and join trade unions of their choice, and to bargain on work conditions collectively. We obligate not to apply any measures restricting this right of employees and make parallel means of independent and free association and bargaining available to all workers.

We do not discriminate representatives of employees and provide them with possibilities to perform their function at work.

 

Safety and health

We secure safe, hygienic and healthy work environment by constant adequate actions to prevent any damage to health, related to direct work of employees or likely to appear at work, reducing hazards typical to a respective work environment. In order to strengthen safety and health, we engage employees to these actions, training new and current employees on safety and health. We secure that workplaces and facilities are installed and maintained based of requirements set out in applicable laws and meeting key needs of employees. We take care not only of physical health but also of psychological wellbeing.

 

Child labour

We do not tolerate child labour, so children of our employees shall be employed based on requirements established by laws on legal working age. Children of employees shall be employed to provide them with a possibility to familiarize them with the company and relate their future with the milk industry, upon their explicit wish to work, a written consent of their parents and meeting all requirements set out by laws of the Republic of Lithuania.

 

Wages and benefits

Employees shall be timely paid agreed wages, not lower than the minimumwage established by the Government and (or) not lower than subsistence level wage. No deductions from wages shall be made unless this is established by laws of the Republic of Lithuania.

 

Work hours

We secure that working time of employees is complaint with provisions and mandatory standards of laws of the Republic of Lithuania, related to work hours and overtime, breaks, rest hours, vacations, including maternity and paternity leaves.

 

Discrimination

We do not tolerate discrimination against employment, wage, training, career and labour relations.  Personal development and career possibilities shall be equally secured to all employees.

We do not tolerate discrimination against sex, race, nationality, language, origin, social status, religion, beliefs or views, age, sexual orientation, disability, ethnic dependence or other basis.

 

Continuous employment

We provide continuous employment based on official employment relationship established by provisions and practice of laws of the Republic of Lithuania.

 

Brutal and inhuman behaviour

We do not tolerate humiliation, depreciation, abuse towards our employees, mobbing, harassment, persuasion, blackmailing manipulation or any other forcing to behave against laws, conscience or other principles. The company employees shall be respected and their dignity shall be secured.

 

Environment

The company shall constantly work on performance, pollution and waste prevention, allocate resources for it, seek for the most efficient methods to minimize environmental impact.

The company shall pay much attention to reduction of the use of natural resources and follow requirements set out in applicable laws and other regulations, continuously develop the quality and environment management system.

When introducing new products, the company shall follow the system procedures, evaluate their environmental impact, use materials and technological processes with the smallest possible environmental impact.

 

The company Management shall be obligated to follow leas of the Republic of Lithuania, local laws of the Company in all fields of social responsibility, to regularly revise validity and adequacy of this policy to develop changing requirements and allocate required resources for implementation of these provisions and encourage all employees of the company to follow the socially responsible policy.

This policy shall be communicated to all employees and third parties (if required) to secure clear and understandable liabilities.

The Management shall be obligated to constantly monitor how this policy is implemented in daily business.

Provision breaches shall be reported via respective communication channels set out in the Procedure of submission and hearing of claims, offers, inquiries and requests BP 10 P002-PS.
